Tottenham may have found Lucas Moura replacement after journalist’s transfer update – Robinson

Paul Robinson has backed Tottenham to make a move for Villarreal forward Yeremi Pino next year.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one suggested the 20-year-old could take Lucas Moura’s position in Antonio Conte’s squad.

Speaking to Caught Offside (22 November), Fabrizio Romano revealed Chelsea and Spurs are chasing Pino ahead of the January transfer window.

Both clubs are said to be keen on bolstering their attack in the new year.

Pino is one of the most impressive young players in La Liga.

His contract with Villarreal runs until the end of June 2027.

Robinson suggested the signing of Pino would only make sense if Lucas Moura departs the club in January or upon the expiration of his contract in the summer.

“If Lucas Moura goes, they need to get a replacement in,” he told Football Insider. “They would need to bolster the squad.

That might be the thinking behind the interest in Pino.

“When Richarlison and [Dejan] Kulusevski were injured they did look short. I’m sure [Antonio] Conte recognised that.

“Lucas Moura’s future is up in the air right now so they might need to look for other options.

“Pino would be a good one. He is a young lad who is making his name in La Liga. The question is, would he want to go to Spurs are be a squad player? I’m not so sure.”
