Tottenham move for Memphis Depay hinges on one player – Robinson
A Tottenham move for Barcelona forward Memphis Depay hinges on the future of Lucas Moura.
That is the view of former White Hart Lane number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the possibility of Depay, 28, joining Antonio Conte’s side this summer.
On Monday (4 July), Spanish outlet Sport reported that Tottenham made an enquiry to Barcelona about the Netherlands international when in talks over a deal for Clement Lenglet.

Depay has entered the final year of his contract at the Nou Camp and could be available for a cut-price fee.
Conte currently boasts the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski, Lucas Moura and Richarlison as forward options.
When asked by Football Insider if Depay was needed in north London, Robinson said: “Depay would be a difficult one to put into that system.
“He plays more as a nine these days. Yes, he can play wide but his preferred position is through the middle now.
“When you have Richarlison and Harry Kane do you need a Depay? I’m not sure. How many of the same type of player do you need? Son can also play as a nine.

“If Lucas Moura was to go, you would need to add more quality to the side. You would do well to keep all of these players happy though.
“At the moment, I don’t think there is any need for Depay with Lucas still there.”
In other news, Kieran Maguire has claimed Tottenham have just sparked deluge of ‘sales’ amid ‘god-like’ Son Heung-min claim.
