Tottenham must blow PL rivals away in reported mega-money hunt for missing piece of puzzle
There has been much debate over whether Tottenham can consider their season a success – but either way there are still changes to be made to take the club to the next level.
On the European stage Spurs have improved significantly, going from struggling to break out of the group stage to going unbeaten across the six games, and only falling to an experienced Juventus side in the knock out stage.
As for their domestic performances, another top four finish has been guaranteed, but there will be some disappointment over their inability to push for a cup – and that will now be the next target after years of consistent growth.
To improve, the club need to invest in new recruits who are going to bring a different element to the squad, and that is exactly why they are reported to be in the hunt for 26-year-old Napoli midfielder Jorginho.
The Daily Mail claim on their website that the Lilywhites have held talks with the central star’s representatives over a sensational £53million swoop, joining a host of Premier League rivals in hunting his capture.

While some might say that Mauricio Pochettino already has a host of midfield talent at his disposal, none have the vast range of qualities that Jorginho would bring.
He is strong, fast, can move the ball quickly and has tremendous vision to move the ball forward.
The most comparable Tottenham star is Mousa Dembele, but the Belgian is ageing and his injury issues, which have caused him to be absent at times, have hampered both his and the club’s displays this season.
Jorginho could be the missing piece of the puzzle for Pochettino, a huge improvement on the likes of Moussa Sissoko and Victor Wanyama, but his capture would mean Daniel Levy breaking the bank and blowing all the club’s rivals away.
In other Tottenham news, fans were left raving over one under fire star after his display against Newcastle.
