Tottenham must sell Poch attacking mainstay in summer to finally land PL title
COMMENT
Tottenham must consider selling Dele Alli in the summer after data released by the CIES Football Observatory stated that Spurs could be set to make an astonishing £139million profit if they parted ways now.
This might not go down well with Tottenham fans but the money is eye-watering and Pochettino could make it go a long way in the summer.
The current transfer valuations highlighted that Tottenham have two of the top three players that would show the most profit if sold.
Harry Kane, who came up through the youth ranks at Tottenham, is at the top.
Daniel Levy must be seeing pound signs with the figures that are being batted about and considering the negative effect that Alli is having on his side this season, he might think that a sale of the former MK Dons star wouldn’t be such a bad thing.
The 21-year-old has been far below the high standards he set for himself last season and now that he has gained a diving reputation, he is actually costing his side points.
While Tottenham have improved on last year, progressing domestically and on the European scene, Alli hasn’t just stood still in terms of improvement, he’s actually gone backwards.
And it’s not only apparent in his performances but statistically speaking too.
The ten goals he has notched up in 42 games this season is way off the 23 in 57 of the previous campaign.
It’s difficult to see with such vast sums of money being talked about, exactly how Levy could refuse an offer if it came in anywhere near close to that figure.
Spurs fans might disagree but if there’s one name that can be replaced at Tottenham, it’s Alli.
And £139million would go a hell of a long way.
