Tottenham must ‘get rid’ of two senior players after confirmed news – pundit
Tottenham must sell some of their senior stars before any more new faces arrive at the club.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Spurs’ next move in the transfer market.
On Wednesday (8 June) Tottenham confirmed the signing of Fraser Forster on a free transfer.
He follows Ivan Perisic, 33, who became Spurs first signing of the summer on 31 May.
Both players add experience and quality in positions that Antonio Conte identified as problem areas during his first months at the club.
Kenny insists it is now time for departures at N17 after a rapid start to Tottenham’s summer business.
“Tottenham need to do it the same as every other club,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Unless you are like a Leeds who really needed to strengthen anyway, you need to ship players out.
“They have had two players come in so maybe they will get rid of a couple before some new faces come in.
“I’m sure it won’t happen but Spurs don’t want to be caught short at the start of pre-season.”

Conte is looking to completely overhaul his squad ahead of the side’s return to the Champions League for the 2022-23 season.
The Italian lead his side to a fourth-place finish in the 2021-22 Premier League after taking over in November, with the club in ninth.
