Tottenham news: Antonio Conte may quit for Man United after source’s new update – pundit

Antonio Conte may quit Tottenham to join Man United in the summer if he is not going to be backed in the next transfer window.

That is the view of ex-England and Premier League star Danny Mills, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Conte’s future at Spurs.

A French source told Football Insider on Friday (18 February) that Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring the Italian as they fear Mauricio Pochettino could become the next Man United manager.

It is understood Conte is considering a quick exit from Tottenham after going public with his frustrations over the January transfer window.

“The Manchester United job will come up again and PSG could be on the cards,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“He’s not particularly happy anywhere he’s been. It’s a bit like Mourinho, he’s successful for a period and then falls out with people, whether that be the players or the hierarchy.

“We know what he’s like and there’s every chance it will be a difficult summer if he doesn’t get what he wants and what he feels he’s been promised.

“You look at it, Man United may need a new manager, Pochettino will probably leave PSG. All of a sudden that managerial merry-go-round starts to spin quite quickly.

“If one or two start to tumble then vacancies open up and it all starts to change very quickly.”

Conte clarified comments on Friday (18 February) he made in the Italian media last week.

He insisted, via the BBC, the squad was only “weakened” in January in terms of numbers and not quality.
