Tottenham news: Bryan Gil and Giovani Lo Celsco tipped to ‘rip it up’ by pundit
Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Bryan Gil and Giovani Lo Celso to “rip it up” in La Liga after they left Tottenham on loan.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed the pair did not have the quality to succeed in the Premier League.
Tottenham confirmed on during deadline day (31 January) Gil, 20, had joined Valencia on loan until the end of the season.
It was later confirmed the same day Lo Celso, 25, had signed for Villareal on a temporary deal until the end of the campaign.
Gil moved to north London from Villareal in the summer but has not been named in a Premier League starting XI this season.
Lo Celso has named two league starts this term and has featured in 19 games across all competitions.
“Sometimes some players just don’t suit the Premier League,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“Lo Celso and Gil are not Premier League players. They are not strong enough in possession, for me.
“Sometimes certain leagues suit certain players. It wouldn’t surprise me if they will rip it up in La Liga and showed great form. Different leagues suit different players.
“Spurs have got to be careful now of spending big money that might look good in a different league which is different to the Premier League.”

Gil had six goals and four assists in 54 La Liga games for Sevilla and Leganes.
Lo Celso has nine goals and two assists in 32 La Liga appearances in his time at Real Betis.
In other news, Tottenham had an approach for a £70million-valued star rejected and Fabio Paratici will return in the summer.
