Tottenham news: Expert cites Robin van Persie after what Spurs ‘worked on in training’
Tottenham have worked behind the scenes on hitting diagonal balls from deep into the path of Harry Kane, according to Paul Robinson.
The former White Hart Lane number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 28-year-old “looks to peel off” the last defender when a midfielder receives the ball outside the box.
Kane scored a sublime brace in a 5-0 thrashing of Everton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday night.

The England captain’s second goal, assisted by Matt Doherty, was reminiscent of his strike at Leeds United last month (26 February).
Robinson compared Kane to Robin van Persie after scoring the two left-footed volleys.
“It’s obviously something they have worked on and talked about in training,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“Harry Kane looks to peel off the shoulder of the last defender and get on the end of that ball from deep.
“Kane was not himself at the Euros or for the first half of the season but he’s back to his best now. His numbers are incredible.

“People questioned whether he should have been playing after the Man City situation but nobody is saying that now. He is back to showing everyone why he’s one of the best strikers in the world.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s on his left or his right foot, his finishing is simply incredible. The left-foot volleys are reminiscent of Robin van Persie.”
