Tottenham news: Expert issues ‘unbelievable’ Harry Kane verdict amid claim that ‘might sound mad’
Harry Kane is currently playing the best football of his career at Tottenham.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Kane, 28, scored twice as Tottenham beat Manchester City 3-2 to blow to title race wide open on Saturday (19 February).
The striker also played a vital pass down the left to Heung-Min Son in the build-up to Spurs’ first goal.
Wenham was delighted by Kane’s performance and couldn’t be happier that it came against Man City.
“This might sound mad to say Harry Kane, is playing the best he has ever played for us,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“His performance on Saturday vindicated a lot of the things I have been saying about him all season.
“His finishing for both goals was absolutely world-class. On the biggest stage, he provided.
“Then you get to his passing and this has been clear to Tottenham fans for a while but maybe neutrals aren’t as aware of it as we are.
“His passing is unbelievable. He is as good as a number ten even though he is a number nine.
“His pass to Sonny for the first goal was De Bruyne levels of quality.

“You just hope now that Kane gets those numbers over the rest of the season because that would be a big boost for us.
“I’m delighted he did it against City as well after everything that happened in the summer.”
In other news, Tottenham well placed to sign “unbelievable” player available for cut-price deal.
