Tottenham news: Harry Kane ‘not happy’ after what pundit has spotted
Frank McAvennie has insisted Harry Kane is too good to stay at Tottenham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said Kane is the kind of player who deserves to win something before he retires.
Speaking on beIN SPORTS (24 November), ex-Chelsea and England defender John Terry said the 29-year-old has to leave Spurs if he wants to add trophies to his cabinet.
The England captain has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich in recent weeks.
But, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in his Caught Offside column(4 December), there are “no changes” to Kane’s Tottenham situation at the moment.
Romano added that Bayern “like Kane” but nothing has been discussed beyond that.
The forward will have a year left on his contract in North London at the end of the season.
McAvennie insisted the striker needs to start being selfish.
“He will not be happy that it has taken him so long to score in the World Cup,” he told Football Insider.
“He would have thought he was going to win the Golden Boot. I think he has been very loyal to Tottenham. I know he loves them but he has got to start thinking about himself.

“He is not the kind of player who should be finishing his career without winning anything. Even I could show him my medals.
“You want somebody like Harry to win something. He has been so good at the game you want him to win something.“
