Tottenham news: Pundit hails duo ‘best in the world’ after what he’s seen
Noel Whelan has hailed Tottenham duo Harry Kane and Heung-min Son the “best partnership in world football”.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the pair’s form will be “so important” in Spurs’ pursuit of a top-four finish.
Kane and Son starred yet again as Tottenham defeated Burnley yesterday to boost their hopes of Champions League qualification.
As per the Premier League’s Twitter (19 February), the pair have now combined for 36 top-flight goals, drawing level with Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard – who previously had the most of any pairing in the league’s history.
Whelan insisted the “telepathic” pair are a “joy to watch”.
“It’s the best partnership in world football, absolutely – they’re a deadly duo,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“They’ve got that instinct between them, it’s almost telepathic. They’ve been together for a very long time now, which helps, and they know each other’s game inside out. They’ve been massive for Spurs.
“They don’t even really need to look, they know exactly where each other is supposed to be.
“It’s a joy to watch when they’re on song, and all you can do is stand back and admire it.
“We haven’t seen the best of them this season. But if they can keep that sort of form up, it’ll be so important for the top four race.”

Tottenham moved within four points of fourth-placed Man United with their win at Turf Moor.
The duo have scored a combined 16 Premier League goals this term.
