Tottenham news: Pundit issues ‘huge’ Harry Kane claim after £85m reveal
Frank McAvennie has told Man United to do whatever it takes to sign Tottenham star Harry Kane.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker claimed that signing Kane is the only chance United have of competing for the Premier League title and Champions League.
The 29-year-old has entered the final 18 months of his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and there is growing uncertainty around his long-term future.

According to football.london (23 January), the England captain is open to discussing a new contract if the club were to begin talks and is keen to stay and win trophies with Spurs.
But, according to the Daily Mail (20 January), the striker is one of Erik ten Hag’s preferred options as they seek to sign a new number nine in the summer.
The Lilywhites are set to place a minimum £85million price tag on their star man in the hopes of keeping him in London.
McAvennie urged United to splash the cash for the striker.
“If Man United have any aspirations of doing anything they need a player like Kane,” he told Football Insider.
“He is tailor-made. I think if they want any chance of challenging for the league again and challenging for the Champions League they need a player like Kane.

“If you were to ask me who is the perfect club for Kane I would say Man United. It is huge. They will win things with Kane, he will win nothing at Tottenham and it is going to be a crying shame.
“He might have all the money in the world but nothing in the trophy cabinet. Getting player of the year means nothing if you have not won a trophy.“
