Tottenham news: Pundit lambasts some Spurs stars as ‘terrible’, issues ‘frightening’ claim
Paddy Kenny has slammed the “weak mentality” at Tottenham after the club was dumped out of the FA Cup.
The former Leeds United stopper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insists the club’s lack of consistency is “frightening”.
Tottenham exited the FA Cup at the hands of Middlesbrough on Tuesday night (1 March).
This means Spurs are set for another trophyless season.
Tottenham’s form has been under the spotlight with the club beating Man City and Leeds United in the last two weeks while also losing to relegation-threatened Burnley and now Middlesbrough.
Kenny insists this fluctuating form is unsustainable.
“The inconsistency is frightening,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I don’t get how you can go from one level to another. No disrespect to Burnley or Boro but Spurs should be winning those games.
“Then they go and win the game against Man City which is the game they should not be winning.
“I just don’t get how inconsistent they are. It shows how weird football is.
“But on the other end of it, there is a problem there. I think there is a real weak mentality at Tottenham.
“I don’t know if it’s something about playing those smaller sides and not being up for it but some of them, the performances I’ve seen, have been terrible.
“Either way, it needs to be sorted quick or they won’t finish in the top four.”

Tottenham are next in action against Everton on Monday (7 March).
They sit five points off the top four with two games in hand on Man Unitec who currently occupy that spot in the table.
