Tottenham news: Pundit suggests Conte secretly unhappy after Bentancur and Kulusevski claims
Alan Hutton has insisted Tottenham strengthened in the wrong areas during the January transfer window.
The former Spurs defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted Antonio Conte would be secretly disappointed at the club’s business.
As quoted by the Evening Standard on Saturday (5 January), Conte claimed Tottenham are “more complete as a squad” following the arrivals of Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur.

However, Hutton has suggested Spurs were already strong in the attacking third and central midfield.
He claimed Conte would have wanted new additions elsewhere on the pitch.
Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Moving forward, in that final third of the pitch, that’s where I see them being strong. That was their strength with Kane, Son, Bergwijn, Moura.
“Kulesevski comes in, I do think he adds something a bit different.
“As for Bentancur, it’s another area of the pitch where they have got players capable of doing a really good job in there. You’ve got Hojbjerg and Skipp.
“Conte’s come out and said he trusts Harry Winks as well and he’ll give him game time. You’ve got three sitting there for two positions.
“Then you’ve brought in another player who wasn’t playing at Juventus, really. I know he’s a top-class player and he will add something to the team.
“But I don’t think it’s an area they had to strengthen in this window. There are other parts of the pitch I think they could have.
“That’s why I think Conte won’t be too happy with the business that they’ve done. I suppose, at the end of the day, they are not far off the top four. They’re still in with a shout.
“I think if they got the area strengthened that they wanted, they could have made it an easier push for themselves.”

Both Bentancur and Kulusevski made their debuts in the FA Cup win over Brighton.
Spurs let Giovani Lo Celso, Bryan Gil, Tanguy Ndombele, Jack Clarke and Dele Alli leave during the January window.
In other news, pundit claims Conte and Fabio Paratici given “full control” of transfers after statement issued.
