Tottenham news: This may be real reason ‘dangerous’ Harry Kane tactic stopped as controversy analysed – ex-Fifa official
Keith Hackett is thrilled to see Tottenham striker Harry Kane has stopped backing into opposition players when they are in the air.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Premier League and Fifa official said the 28-year-old’s actions were “dangerous” and “unfair”.
Kane came under scrutiny from fans for winning free-kicks by tipping opposition players over on multiple occasions last season.

Football.London’s Chris Wheatley pointed the finger at Kane for such behaviour after a meeting between Arsenal and Spurs in December 2020.
However, the England captain has stopped such actions this term.
When asked by Football Insider for the possible reason why Kane has stopped, Hackett said: “I think this has come from Kane in all honesty.
“He is a sensible player and he will know what the feeling around it was at the time.
“I have to say, I’m a big fan of Kane’s. In a high intensity game he stand up and is always involved. That is the difference with a top-level player.
“He has stopped backing into players though. I think he’s decided that he is better off trying to win the ball fairly than unfairly.
“It was quite dangerous what he was doing. He was tipping players over on occasion. I’m glad it’s stopped.”

Kane has been in sensational form this calendar year after a slow start to the season.
He has contributed 22 goals and six assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
