Kieran Maguire issues Tottenham claim as Uefa close in – ‘Joe Lewis is in the Bahamas’
There is “absolutely no trust” between Uefa and Tottenham when it comes to the prospect of a revived Super League.
So says finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Uefa’s latest move to squash the breakaway plot for good.
Spurs were one of six Premier League sides to sign up for the pan-European competition before it was aborted just days after its inception.

The Daily Mail reported last Sunday (13 March) that Uefa are set to open a London office in April, exactly one year on from the Super League collapse.
It is understood that European football’s governing body is closing in on English clubs in order to kill any further potential mutinies at source.
But Maguire is sceptical of the plan’s efficacy given that the likes of Spurs owner Joe Lewis are not based in the UK.
“Business is all about relationships,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“The closer you are to the people making decisions at club level, the better the relationships are, in theory.
“Uefa is trying all potential vehicles to identify the concerns of club owners as soon as possible to prevent another Super League.
“But there’s absolutely no trust there. I’m not convinced that will make a significant difference because the owners tend to talk among themselves.
“And, let’s face it, the owners aren’t in London anyway. Joe Lewis is in the Bahamas.”

Lewis has lived in the Bahamas as a tax exile since the 1970s.
Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus all remain committed to the Super League.
