Tottenham player ratings v Southampton: International duo struggle in 5/10 displays
Forwards
Heung-min Son – 6: The South Korean international brings so much energy wherever he is playing, but he was unable to have the sort of impact he would have liked. Did not see much of the ball in the first half and nothing changed until his departure on 70 minutes.
Dele Alli – 6: In a more advanced role than recent weeks thanks to the absence of Christian Eriksen, he failed to have the same sort of impact as his Danish counterpart. He is not the sort of player who links up midfield and attack, rather operating as a secondary striker, which ended up leaving a gap where Spurs needed a man to slot in.
Harry Kane – 7: Another Premier League match, another goal for Tottenham’s star man. He was not afforded many chances by Southampton’s defence but his first half header showed his sheer determination to put the ball in the back of the net.
