Not the best outing from Alli, who showed his petulance to be drawn into a couple of confrontations with the United players.
Perhaps Jose Mourinho had targeted the youngsters as a liability and instructed his players to wind him up.
Credit to the Tottenham man, he did not rise (too much) to their efforts, but he could not focus whatever frustration was building into a strong performance on the pitch.
With Kane missing Spurs need players to step up and take charge, with Alli one of those expected to shine, but it was a flat outing at Old Trafford.
