Is he a centre back who plays in midfield, or a midfielder who can slot in at the back?
Saturday saw Pochettino opt for the latter, and he put in a mightily impressive shift against a United attack which boasted both pace and power.
Romelu Lukaku could not get the better of him, but it was Anthony Martial who capitalised on the England international’s one mistake to score the winner.
Would have been given an 8/10 had it not been for his one slip up, but that should take nothing away from what was an otherwise domineering display at the back.
