While he found his attacking threat limited by United, he was a solid performer at the back.
Tasked with dealing with Antonio Valencia’s runs forward, as well as the rest of United’s attack, he kept them all mostly quiet as Spurs looked to have done enough to secure at least a point at Old Trafford.
It was not to be however and he will be one of the players most disappointed with defeat after doing everything he could to try and secure victory.
