Tottenham player ratings v Middlesbrough: Midfielder is poor

COMMENT By Harvey Byrne

Football Insider rates the Tottenham players in their 1-o win against Middlesbrough in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Hugo Lloris 6 – Had little to do across the 90 minutes, but was there when needed.

Kyle Walker 6 – Spent the majority of the match in the Boro half, but he struggled to create anything meaningful.

Toby Alderweireld 7 – Went close with a header in the first, while also giving a comfortable display in the back four.

Eric Dier 6 – Solid display from the England international standing in for the injured Jan Vertonghen. Had little to do, but was there when needed.

Ben Davies 5 – Gave little options out wide in terms of attack. Danny Rose’s injury has hit Spurs hard.

Victor Wanyama 3 – Had little defensive duties to perform across the match, while going forward isn’t the midfielder’s strong point. The midfielder was generally poor.

Moussa Dembele 7 – Always assured in the middle of the park. Most of the attacks went through the Belgium international

Christian Eriksen 7 – The Denmark international put in some threatening balls across the 90 minutes.

Dele Alli 7 – Was a constant menace with his positioning and ball control. Unlucky to finish without a goal or an assist.

Son Heung-min 8 – Always looked threatening when in possession. The Middlesbrough defence couldn’t cope with his pace and he did very well to win a penalty in the second half.

Harry Kane 6 – Fairly quiet display from the England international. However, you would always back him to score from the spot and he duly obliged.

SUBS:

Moussa Sissoko (For Son 81 minutes) – 6

Harry Wins (For Dele Alli 88 minutes) – 6

Vincent Janssen (For Harry Kane 90 minutes) – 6
