The same applies to his performance on Tuesday, where fans might have been questioning if there had been a misprint on the team sheet.
In the side to break down the opposition attacks, Real Madrid passed him by like he was not even there, as he failed to stamp any sort of authority on the game.
His ability at the very top level has come under question before and after this outing it should do yet again.
Still, without Victor Wanyama or Mousa Dembele fighting for his spot in the line up, Pochettino does not have many other options.
