Tottenham ‘playing a blinder’ after source’s Ndombele update – pundit

Tottenham are “playing a blinder” as they look to loan Tanguy Ndombele to PSG.

That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Spurs’ efforts to offload the 25-year-old.

A Spurs source told Football Insider on Tuesday (25 January) the club are in negotiations with PSG over a potential loan move, while Ndombele has other options on the table.

Stumbling blocks include the percentage of Ndombele’s £200,000-a-week wages that will be paid during the loan and if there will be a purchase clause included.

McAvennie can’t believe the midfielder could go to PSG and claims he could struggle for confidence.

“There is talk of Ndombele going to PSG,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“You are having a laugh aren’t you? There is no doubt the boy can play.

“But he’s barely played for two years, you expect him to walk into a dressing room with Messi, Neymar and Mbappe?

“Has he got the confidence to go and play in that team? Maybe he thinks he does.

“He strikes me as the type of player who has the arrogance to be able to do that.

“If he goes there and his touch is off, or he’s not quite at it, those boys will let you know.

“But if he does well, maybe Tottenham can finally get rid of him. If anyone can get close to giving Spurs their money back it’s PSG.

“They are playing a blinder if that comes off.”

Antonio Conte has not named Ndombele in Spurs’ last two matchday squads.

He has played 16 times across all competitions this season.

In other news, Football Insider can reveal Tottenham have opened talks over part-exchange deal for £50million-rated player.
