Tottenham set for imminent announcement as goodbye message issued and exit confirmed

Tottenham slipped to another defeat in the Premier League as they were beaten 2-1 at home by West Ham on Saturday afternoon.

Crysencio Summerville struck an early opener for the visitors, before Cristian Romero then levelled the game midway through the second half.

However, the Lilywhites were ultimately condemned to a fourth consecutive league game without a win, as Callum Wilson struck the winner for the struggling Hammers deep into stoppage time.

Football Insider revealed on Sunday that Tottenham are accelerating plans to sack Frank, with the fans’ reaction to the West Ham defeat seen as the final straw.

Tottenham set for Souza transfer announcement

Frank has been under huge pressure at Tottenham in recent weeks, and that has grown with every passing game of late.

However, that hasn’t stopped the club hierarchy from backing him in the transfer market and looking to fund several new additions.

Conor Gallagher has already come through the door in North London, and the move for Souza is seemingly now on the verge of going through.

Fabrizio Romano revealed on 9 January that an agreement had been reached for Tottenham to sign the young left-back, and Brazilian outlet Globo Esporto are now reporting that he is “on the way to Tottenham” after saying goodbye at Santos on Saturday.

The 19-year-old posted an emotional message to his boyhood club on Instagram on Saturday.

“After ten years defending this badge, the time has come to live a new challenge,” Souza wrote in the caption.

“The last year was intense, of growth and overcoming, but even in difficult moments, I felt the affection and support of the Santos fans. This will never be forgotten.”

Spurs’ announcement of the transfer could seemingly be imminent, as it is clear that Souza’s departure from Santos is now confirmed.

Souza arrival could spark summer exit for Destiny Udogie

Destiny Udogie’s future at Tottenham was uncertain last summer, and with Souza’s arrival now imminent, it could spark the beginning of the end of the Italian in North London.

The impending arrival is undoubtedly the long-term plan for the left-back spot, and that could leave Udogie pushed to the fringes of the squad if he comes in and hits the ground running.

It would be a huge surprise if the Italian were to leave before the end of the January window, given how unproven Souza is in European football, but a summer exit could be a serious possibility.

Udogie has been linked with a move away from Tottenham for several windows now, and this could finally be the deal that sets the cogs in motion for that to actually go through.
