Tottenham star Brennan Johnson deletes social media after fan abuse
Tottenham star Brennan Johnson has deactivated his Instagram after receiving abuse over his performance in their 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday (September 15).
The 23-year-old received stick from Spurs fans throughout the game, particularly when he fired a decent chance well over just before half-time with the scores still at 0-0.
Mikel Arteta’s side went on to secure all three points in a pragmatic fashion, centre-back Gabriel scoring with a thundering header in the 64th minute.
In need of freshening things up, Johnson was hooked off just four minutes later by Ange Postecoglu, having completed just one successful dribble and created one chance.
Spurs now sit in 13th, having won only one of their opening four Premier League games, losing two and drawing another.

The Wales international has only managed to register five goals and 10 assists for Spurs since making the £47.5million move from Nottingham Forest last summer.
Johnson is yet to register a goal contribution for club or country this season but did force an own-goal from Dan Burn in Spurs’ 2-1 defeat to Newcastle before the international break.

He had been a fairly consistent Instagram user before deciding to delete his account, posting images from his professional and personal life.
Tottenham and Johnson will be hoping to put their North London Derby defeat behind them as they prepare to face Championship side Coventry in the League Cup on Wednesday (September 18).
