Tottenham star is doing one thing exceptionally, better than all players in Europe
Tottenham have a player in their ranks who is outperforming every player in Europe’s top five leagues in one key metric.
Tottenham‘s season has got off to great start, with recently-appointed head-coach Thomas Frank quickly able to implement his style and tactics after being poached from Brentford.
His side have lost just once in their first seven league games, and they also remain unbeaten in the Champions League and Carabao Cup so far.
Leeds were the latest side on the end of a fine Spurs performance, as they won 2-1 at Elland Road before the international break, and they currently sit third in the Premier League ahead of the visit of Aston Villa next Sunday (19 October).
Frank oversaw a number of new summer signings to aid his side’s fortunes this season, and one in particular has stood out up to now, not just at Tottenham, but across the continent.

Mohammed Kudus is leading completed take-ons in top five European leagues
Tottenham signed Mohammed Kudus from capital rivals West Ham in July after he had scored 19 goals in 80 appearances over two seasons at the East London club.
He notched a brace of assists on his league debut for Spurs against Burnley in August, then repeated that trick against Brighton last month before notching his first goal for the club last time out against Leeds.
The Ghanaian playmaker has been a real success story with the Lilywhites up to now, and stats gurus Squawka have stated that he is currently the only player to have completed 30 take-ons in Europe’s top five leagues this season.
He has also completed at least 11 more take-ons than any other Premier League player so far in 2025-26, and no one in the top-flight has won more duels (57) or provided more assists than him.
Kudus shone against Leeds as he ended the game a goal and an assist, the most dribbles completed (6) and most duels won (10) in the match, as well as 88% pass accuracy and six defensive contributions [Fotmob].
What Thomas Frank has said about Kudus’ strong Spurs start
Tottenham needed to sign a player like Kudus to add a creative spark to their starting eleven, and James Maddison’s injury woes at the start of this season have meant he has needed to step up instantly after arriving.
He is already well-adjusted to the Premier League, so it’s not as if his good form has come as a shock, and Spurs boss Frank had some high praise for him last week following his two goal contibutions.
Frank said: “It was about time (he scored), wasn’t it? We’ve got big expectations. I’m so happy for Mo. He needed that goal. He’s been our best offensive player so far. You just see, he looked a little bit more fluid.”
The Danish boss embraced Kudus following the win, and he is set to be key to any success that Spurs may have this season and in the years to come.
