Pundit suggests this is the real reason for Kane no-show at Tottenham today

Harry Kane “hasn’t got it in him” to force a Tottenham exit by skipping training – it is more likely he has been given a few days off by the club.

So says ex-Premier League forward Noel Whelan, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 28-year-old wantaway centre-forward.

Sky Sports reporter Paul Gilmour tweeted earlier today (2nd August) that Kane had been a no-show this morning.

This site first broke news back in April that Kane was desperate to leave Tottenham amid interest from elite clubs.

But Whelan insists that the England skipper would not go to such measures to force a move.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “No, I don’t think Harry Kane would do anything like that.

“You very much doubt that he would be that sort of player because he’s always come across as very professional.

“Maybe he has been given a few extra days off by the club. They don’t have to tell everybody if that is the case.

“I’d be very surprised if this was the case. I don’t think they’ve fallen out this much. There’s a lot of respect there and it’s his boyhood club.

“I don’t think he’s got it in him, to be quite honest. I think he’s far too professional.”

Kane, whose Spurs contract runs until 2024, was the Premier League’s top creator and goalscorer last term.

The one-club man has scored 221 times in 336 appearances for Tottenham since making his debut in 2011.
