Medical insider: Dejan Kulusevski injury ‘exacerbated’ amid Tottenham latest
Tottenham star Dejan Kulusevski’s injury issues may have been exacerbated as he chose to play almost the entirety of Sweden’s recent Nations League double-header despite discomfort in his hamstrings.
That is the view of medical expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in injury and data analysis.
Kulusevski complained of tightness in his thigh during the international break but played 85 minutes and 90 minutes respectively in the matches against Serbia and Slovenia.

The 22-year-old has since missed Spurs’ last two games, the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal last Saturday (1 October) and 0-0 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Tuesday (10 October).
As quoted by The Athletic on the eve of the Frankfurt match, Antonio Conte was unable to offer a specific timeline with regard to how long the attacker might be out.
Spurs are next in action against Brighton on Saturday (8 October).
Dinnery suggests that match may come too soon for Kulusevski but he could return well before the month is out.
“I understand that they wanted to send the player for a second MRI scan,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“Initial suggestions were that it wasn’t too serious. I think the problem may have been exacerbated by the fact that he stayed on for Sweden and then complained about some discomfort post-match.

“I think mid-October is where we are likely to be on this one.
“However, it may be that he needs more imaging to confirm exactly where we are. Hopefully, it’s nothing too serious.”
In other news, this is the real reason Yves Bissouma has been frozen out at Tottenham.
