Tottenham tipped to green light double exit after Djed Spence news – expert
Antonio Conte is expected to sanction the sale of either Matt Doherty or Emerson Royal as Tottenham close in on the capture of Middlesbrough wing-back Djed Spence.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
As reported by the Times on Thursday (14 July), Spurs have agreed a deal worth an initial £12million for Spence, 21, with a move likely to be concluded over the coming days.

Football Insider revealed at the end of June that Tottenham and Boro were close to agreeing a total deal worth around £20million with add-ons and bonuses.
With Spence seemingly on his way to north London, Wenham suggested Conte would let Emerson or Doherty, or both, leave if the club received acceptable offers.
Wenham told Football Insider’s Ben Wild: “You wonder if Conte would get rid of both, if the options were there. We’re talking about going from the two we’ve got at the minute to none, with Djed Spence yet to happen.
“I just wonder if he looks at that and goes: ‘Are they really good enough? Are those two really good enough for where I want to take this football club? I want to take this club to be challenging Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City this coming season.’

“I think they will do, but are those right wing-backs good enough? It just depends on offers, really. If we got offers for either I think we’d sell either or. I think Emerson is the preferred sale because he counts as a non-homegrown player in the squad.”
Emerson, 23, has played 41 times since joining Spurs from Barcelona last summer.
