Tottenham tipped to seal late-window signing after what McAvennie has seen
Frank McAvennie expects Tottenham to add to their squad in the final week of the window despite their impressive start to the season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said there is a growing confidence within Antonio Conte’s side.
The Lilywhites beat Wolves 1-0 on Saturday (20 August) with the only goal of the game coming from Harry Kane.
Sky Sports reported (20 August) that Kane has now scored the most Premier League goals of any player at a single club.
The goal against Wolves has taken him to the top spot, with 185 goals for Tottenham.
McAvennie insisted Kane will continue to break goalscoring records at Tottenham.
“Kane will be the top goalscorer at Tottenham, no doubt,” he told Football Insider.
“I would not see anyone bet against him doing that. I think the confidence is growing in this Tottenham team, even when they’re playing badly they’re getting results like they did against Chelsea.

“Grinding out results, last year that wouldn’t have happened. Beating Wolves 1-0 would have never happened last season, it would’ve been a draw or they would’ve been beaten. They’re getting better. The confidence is growing, the more you don’t get beaten, the more it grows. You know you’re doing well when you’re upsetting opposition managers.
“I think he’ll [Conte] be bringing somebody in this week. I don’t think he’s done yet.“
