Finance guru issues ‘exclusive’ Tottenham claim as deal agreed

Tottenham are set to cash in by streaming their own “exclusive” content.

That is the view of finance expert Doctor Dan Plumley, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Spurs’ plan to expand their media revenue.

Tottenham announced last Tuesday (5 July) that they have partnered with Endevaour Streaming to launch SPURSPLAY.

The new on-demand platform will stream pre-season friendlies as well as youth and women’s matches.

The Londoners will also make thousands of hours of archive footage available to paying customers.

Plumley insists that Spurs are set to rake it in from the new initiative, which comes with very little in the way of overheads.

“This makes complete sense,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.

“Clubs want control over this area. We know OTT platforms are very much here to stay. They are going to drive a lot of consumer behaviour moving forward.

“How people interact with their teams is very different to how previous generations have done it. Look at the success of the All or Nothing series on Amazon that Spurs were a part of.

“So, it’s unsurprising to see that Spurs are taking this in-house as much as possible. They want to offer as much as their own exclusive content as possible.

“It’s often very low-cost and you can more than cover your overheads. That means it can be quite lucrative if you’re looking to sell that to fans all around the world.”

In other news, pundit predicts Harry Kane could be plotting to quit Tottenham amid new contract claim.
