‘Tottenham to make Thomas Frank approach’ after source’s update
Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham future hangs in the balance despite him delivering a first trophy in 17 years last week.
Football Insider revealed on Wednesday (28 May) that Tottenham are preparing to ramp up crunch talks with Postecoglou, 59, in the coming days.
Sources say Daniel Levy and his team are evaluating potential replacements for the Australian – who could only manage a 17th-place finish in the Premier League this term.
Postecoglou arrived at Spurs from Celtic in 2023 and achieved a fifth-place finish in his first season in England.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has claimed Brentford boss Thomas Frank is the right man for the job.

Frank is ‘strong candidate’ for Tottenham role, says Wyness
Wyness has previously told Football Insider (28 May) that he believes Levy will choose to replace Postecoglou in the Tottenham dugout.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the former Everton chief insisted Frank would be a “very good choice” despite his lack of experience in European competition.
The 51-year-old has been with Brentford since October 2018 having previously managed Brondby and Denmark’s youth sides.

Wyness told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “It’s going to be a tight decision, but I do think we’re going to see a new manager coming in.
“With Champions League football as well, you do want a strong candidate.
“I think someone like Thomas Frank, at Brentford, would be a very good choice.
“He’s got the experience. He hasn’t got the European experience, but nevertheless, he has experience of bringing a squad together.
“That’s where I think Spurs might go.”

Postecoglou could get £7m payout at Spurs
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (29 May) that Postecoglou could be set to receive a £7million payout if he is sacked as Tottenham manager.
He is understood to be in line for a £2million bonus after winning the Europa League final against Man United last week (21 May).
The 59-year-old is understood to earn around £5million a year, with his deal set to run until June 2027 – and could get one year of salary if he is dismissed.
