Tottenham told ‘get the signing right’ after Lenglet reveal – Agbonlahor
Tottenham should avoid signing Clement Lenglet on a permanent transfer.
Speaking exclusively to Football insider, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed that Spurs should distance themselves from the Frenchman as he does not have enough Premier League quality.
According to the Evening Standard (3 July), Barcelona expect to reach an agreement with Tottenham over a permanent deal for Lenglet.
Spurs are considering a permanent move for Frenchman, who spent last season on loan in north London and will reportedly be available this summer for as little as £5million.
Lenglet spent last season on loan at Spurs, making 35 appearances and The 28-year-old French defender could provide new Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou with a left-footed option at centre-back if he was to join the club.
With a potential deal on the cards, Agbonalhor believes that it is a move that Spurs should look to avoid at all costs.
“I wouldn’t look to bring him,” He told Football Insider.
“He is not good enough for the Premier League, he is not quick enough and it was clear he struggled.
“Lenglet showed good touches on the ball, but he still got found out at the back.

“I would go out and buy a top centre-half to calm Cristian Romero down and make sure he relaxes at the back without feeling the need to lash out on someone.
“There’s defenders out there you can go out and get but Spurs must get the signing right.”
