Tottenham told to accept Bryan Gil offer from Premier League club – expert

It would be “utterly pointless” if Tottenham winger Bryan Gil were to return to Valencia on loan in January.

That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Speaking to Caught Offside on Tuesday (6 December), transfer guru Fabrizio Romano claims Gil will only be allowed to leave Tottenham if a replacement arrives in January.

The 21-year-old winger only has one Premier League appearance to his name so far this season, a 6-minute cameo against Bournemouth on 29 October.

He has made six appearances in all competitions this term, featuring most prominently in the Champions League, where he has made four appearances off the bench.

Wenham claims Gil must join a Premier League side on loan in January if he is to leave the club.

“I would like to see Gil continue to be involved as a sub as he has been over the last couple of months,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Alternatively he could go on loan to a Premier League team. I have seen he has been linked with a return to Valencia on loan. It is utterly pointless sending him back to Valencia or another team like them.

“We know he can do it in Spain, it doesn’t achieve anything for anyone if he goes back to Valencia. They can’t even offer him European football.

“If Valencia want to pay us for him, then that’s a different conversation but if it is another loan with options or obligations, I’m not interested. It’s a waste of our time.

Tottenham

“It has to be Premier League or nothing.

We need to see what he can do in this country.”
