Tottenham told to snub James Maddison and sign Brentford star instead – expert
Tottenham should pass on the chance to sign James Maddison so they can re-sign Christian Eriksen instead.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
On 9 April, The Sun reported Tottenham are ready to battle Arsenal for Maddison, 25.

It is claimed the attacking midfielder will cost either side £60million with Antonio Conte said to be a fan.
Eriksen, 30, has now made five appearances for Brentford since joining them in January following his collapse at Euro 2020.
Wenham would prefer to sign Eriksen when his contract expires at the end of the season instead of splashing out on Maddison.
“Maddison is someone I have wanted at Tottenham for years,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“My thought process on him has changed with Christian Eriksen’s return to England.
“I would rather we signed Eriksen on a free and used the money to buy a new left-sided centre-back.
“That is supposedly our priority this summer and while Maddison is good, I would take Eriksen back in a heartbeat, despite how good Maddison is.
“We will have to see what happens there but I know we won’t want a bidding war with Arsenal.”

Maddison has made 28 league appearances this season, scoring eight goals and providing five assists.
He has also impressed in the Europa Conference League, scoring two goals in five games.
