Tottenham told Wolves plan to accept ‘£40m’ offer

Wolves could accept an offer of £40million for Jorgen Strand Larsen this month amid continued interest in his services from Tottenham.

Strand Larsen has been unable to replicate his fine form at Wolves from last season in 2025-26, with just three goals in 22 appearances so far.

Wolves demanded close to £60million to sell Strand Larsen in the summer after he netted 14 times in 38 games last term, as Newcastle saw a £55m bid for his services rejected after initially trying to sign him for £50m.

Tottenham have registered their interest in Strand Larsen as Thomas Frank aims to add more depth to his forward line this month, but they are among a whole host of Premier League clubs in the race for his signature.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wolves may accept a bid of around £40m for the Norway international if they have a smaller chance of staying up by the end of the window.

Strand Larsen could leave Wolves for £40m at the end of January

Wolves are currently bottom of the Premier League, where they have sat for the majority of this campaign, with just seven points from 21 games so far.

They have taken five of those points from their last three matches, however, and are aiming to continue that trend to stay in with a chance of survival for as long as possible.

Strand Larsen’s exit is not imminent, but he could be let go at the end of January if they return to losing games over the three weeks and have a smaller chance of staying up.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “It would take a big money offer to sort of allow Wolves to sell him. Wolves don’t really want to sell him, (as they have) a slight chance of staying up.

They have improved in the last couple of games, picked up a few points, so they won’t want to weaken their squad by letting Strand Larsen go, but he’s not been starting recently.

“We know that Tottenham are in the market for a new striker and a new attacker, and obviously if Strand-Larsen does become available, he’s somebody that maybe Tottenham could look at.

He’s Premier League proven and had a great season last year with Wolves, maybe not so good this year, like a lot of Wolves’ players. This one might drag on right until the end of the window.

“If somebody does pop up with a big offer of around £40 million then Wolves reluctantly might accept it, especially if they have picked up a few indifferent results and their chances of survival have slimmed down even more.”

Which other Premier League clubs are interested in Strand Larsen?

Strand Larsen last scored against Burnley on 26 October, but his poor form has not dissuaded numerous top-flight teams from chasing his signature this month.

Football Insider revealed on Wednesday that Nottingham Forest have made contact for Strand Larsen and plan to submit an offer for his services soon.

Everton have discussed signing Strand Larsen, while Crystal Palace have also been linked, but the 25-year-old looks unlikely to move to West Ham after they pulled out of the transfer race following two striker arrivals.
