Tottenham transfer news: Etete in line for move after ‘really promising’ update – Insider
Tottenham starlet Kion Etete is showing “really promising” signs while on loan at Cheltenham.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Etete, 20, picked up a goal and an assist on Saturday (19 February) during Cheltenham’s 5-5 draw with Wycombe.
This was his first goal but third assist since joining Cheltenham on loan from Tottenham during the January transfer window.
The striker joined Northampton on loan in the summer of 2021 but was recalled early after picking up an injury.
Wenham is delighted with Etete’s development and claimed he could join a Championship club on loan next season.
“Kion got himself another goal and an assist in that crazy 5-5 draw,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I’m really pleased for him. It’s really promising that he had been moved up a division mid-season and is still starring in games.
“He’s one who has gone a bit under the radar. A lot of fans, myself included, thought he had done so well at youth level just because of his side because he is an imposing figure.
“The fact he has gone out to League Two and done well before going to League One and continuing that, suggests otherwise.
“It also sets him up nicely for a season-long loan in League One or the Championship next season.
“I’m really pleased by his progress this season and by Tottenham’s handling of the loan moves.”

Etete scored six goals for Northampton during the first half of the season.
He has made 29 appearances across his two loan spells this term.
In other news, a club are plotting a raid to sign a Tottenham star Jose Mourinho called a ‘genius’ and £25million will seal the deal.
