Tottenham transfer news: ‘Postecoglou hit by forward blow amid concrete update’
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has been hit with yet another transfer blow after an update on a transfer target, from Florian Plettenberg.
Spurs have been desperate for January transfer signings, with Tam McManus at one point calling for the Australian manager to be put “out of his misery” in North London.
Chairman Daniel Levy and club chiefs have caused frustration from some Tottenham staff members with their failing to rebuild the squad in January.
It now looks like Spurs are currently in line to miss out on another transfer target, as 1.FC Nurnberg’s talented young Greek striker, Stefanos Tzimas, is currently leaning towards a move to Brighton.
Tzimas is currently on loan at the German side from PAOK in Greece, but the German side have an option to buy that they will activate in the summer for €18million (£15.1million), before selling for a minimum of €25million (£20.9million) plus add-ons.
Tottenham target Stefanos Tzimas fits the mould of recent young signings but will not be available in January
Football Insider Verdict
There is no doubt that Tzimas will be a good signing for whichever club he joins in the summer.
The Greek forward is viewed as a really talented player, having scored 10 times in 16 2.Bundesliga games for Nurnberg.
Having signed Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Wilson Odobert in the summer, Tzimas is a similar age to those players, and fits the mould of being a young player with high-upside, both on the pitch and with future resale value.
However, he does not help fix the issues that Spurs have this season, making him a puzzling target for the injury-ridden North London club.

Tottenham are currently 15th in the Premier League table, and have suffered a dismal second season under Postecoglou after finishing fifth last year.
With the transfer window closing on 3 February, time is running out for Levy to give Postecoglou the players he needs to try and make a success of their poor season.
