Tottenham v Brighton: Antonio Conte ‘forced’ to start under-fire star tonight – Expert

Tottenham will name an unchanged starting XI when they take on Brighton in the Premier League.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Tottenham travel to the Amex Stadium tonight (16 March), looking for a return to winning ways after Saturday’s (12 March) loss to Man United.

Wenham expects Antonio Conte to name an unchanged side with Spurs’ chances of finishing in the top four hanging by a thread.

“Tottenham have this weird thing where we just lose in midweek,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“That’s how it seems anyway, Burnley, Middlesbrough, Southampton, we need to change that.

“Brighton are not in good form either, we need to go down there and dominate from the first whistle.

“Unfortunately, because of the loss to Man United, we have to be going into this game with our strongest side.

“Hojbjerg should stay in there even though I am still seeing this unwarranted criticism for him.

“I wouldn’t expect any changes from the Man United game. Just because Conte has been forced into this situation where we can’t afford to weaken that side.

“We have two massive games this week and you have to be realistic.

If we don’t get six points from those two games then we have to stop talking about the top four.

“We are running out of games and the losses keep coming.”

Brighton

Due to postponements in the winter, Spurs are yet to play Brighton in the Premier League this season.

However, they beat the Seagulls 3-1 in the fourth round of the FA Cup on 5 February.
