Tottenham v Burnley: ‘Heroes’ of Man City win to be ‘dropped’ as replacements named – expert
Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski could drop to the bench for Wednesday night’s game between Tottenham and Burnley.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Tottenham travel to Turf Moor tonight (23 February) looking to capitalise after their win over Manchester City on Saturday (19 February).
January signings Kulusevski and Bentancur both started and impressed against City with the former bagging Spurs’ opening goal.
Wenham has suggested both players could need a rest ahead of Saturday’s (26 February) game against Leeds United, with Lucas Moura named as Kulusevski’s likely replacement.
“Obviously Kulu and Bentancur played 93 minutes and were heroes against City,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“They have only just joined the club and we will have to see if they are ready to do another 60 or 70 minutes tonight.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if they were dropped to the bench because we do have a few options now.
“I think Lucas, who came on against City and impressed, is the man to start instead of Kulusevski.
“His running and aerial ability could be quite useful against Burnley and he usually has a good game up at Turf Moor.
“It also wouldn’t surprise me if Davinson Sanchez, who has been heavily involved in recent weeks, came back in for Cristian Romero.
“Obviously Romero has just come back from injury so he needs to be managed.”

Tottenham sit eighth in the Premier League ahead of tonight’s game.
A win would put the club level on points with Arsenal and West Ham.
In other news, a club are plotting a raid to sign a Tottenham star Jose Mourinho called a ‘genius’ and £25million will seal the deal.
