Tottenham v Man City: Expert names three Spurs stars in line for recalls

Tottenham can get a result against Man City if Eric Dier, Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg start the game.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Tottenham travel to the Etihad on Saturday (18 February) on the back of three straight losses in the Premier League.

City are top of the table and recorded a resounding 5-0 win over Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League on Tuesday (15 February).

Antonio Conte, as quoted by Football.London (12 February), “hopes” to have Dier available for Saturday’s clash

Wenham insists Spurs have a chance of nicking a result if Dier starts along with Hojbjerg and Skipp.

“As it stands, I cannot see us rocking up to Man City and getting anything,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I will be more confident if come Saturday we have Eric Dier, Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the lineup.

“It is the kind of thing we would do, we have a fairly decent record against Man City.

“We also have Kane and Son, we would need everything to click. It could happen.

“The problem is if you asked me if I would take three points from games against Southampton, Wolves and Man City I would say no. It’s not enough.

“Now the best we can get is three points and that would mean beating Man City at the Etihad.

“It’s going to be a tough ask and if we do lose badly I don’t want people judging the returning players.

“They shouldn’t be judged on a game against Man City. People should look at the games they missed and the results we got last week.”

In other news, a finance expert has claimed Tottenham are plotting a ‘big pay-off’ as a historic £500million naming-rights deal is on the cards.
