Tottenham player ratings v West Ham: Maligned midfielder impresses as striker shines
Harry Winks – 6
The young midfielder, who made his first start in six months against Barnsley on Tuesday after injury, came on for Christian Eriksen with just over 15 minutes to play.
Looked like he struggled with the physicality of the West Ham midfield.
Kieran Trippier – 6
A replacement for Moussa Sissoko after Serge Aurier’s sending off, it was a pretty standard performance from the former Burnley man.
With Pochettino urging a defensive mindset fans were unable to see him pose an attacking threat, and was beaten for the cross which led to West Ham’s second.
However, he will likely be returning to the starting XI for their next match.
Fernando Llorente – 5
Was brought on with just minutes to play in a bid to hold up play and prevent West Ham’s attacks.
Did very little in reality, and even managed to get booked after a fracas with Winston Reid, in which he was lucky not to see red for grabbing the New Zealand defender by the throat.
In other Tottenham news, Alan Shearer has claimed Spurs boss Pochettino needs to be more like Mourinho.
