Another who was reinstated to the starting XI after missing out in recent games, Davies did not show the same impressive form which earned him so many early season plaudits.
He was unable to demonstrate the attacking threat fans have become used to, and although he was solid at the back, he still showed his vulnerability.
The Welsh international would have been disappointed to have been so easily beaten in the air by Cheikhou Kouyate for the Hammers’ second goal.
Still, he played his part in securing victory with a number of clearances and blocks towards the end, so should be heading back across the capital with his head held high.
