Finally, the French international is starting to show why Mauricio Pochettino persists to include him in the first team.
The much maligned midfielder is yet to live up to anywhere near his £30million price tag, and although it was not an outstanding performance, his efforts will have been well received by the Tottenham faithful.
His energy in midfield saw Spurs dominate in the centre of the park, while he showed his dynamism and determination down the flanks to threaten the West Ham defence.
Could have seen himself grab an assist after a wonderful ball to dissect the Hammers’ defence but Dele Alli was unable to convert.
