Finance guru: Tottenham ‘delighted’ as Fabio Paratici dodges 16-month ban
Tottenham will be “delighted” that Fabio Paratici has dodged a 16-month ban from football over accusations of capital gains fraud.
That is the view of finance expert Doctor Dan Plumley, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after Spurs’ managing director, 49, beat the charges.
The Italian, alongside officials from 11 other Serie A clubs, was accused of inflating transfer fees during his time at Juventus.

Prosecutors argued that the defendants had artificially puffed up transfer payments to present a more favourable accounting picture.
But, as relayed by BBC Sport last Friday (15 April), Paratici has been cleared of all charges and swerved a potential 16-month suspension.
The charges pre-date Paratici’s June 2021 move to North London but Spurs will be relieved that they will not have to tackle a PR fallout, insists Plumley.
“It will be a relief, I’m sure,” the Sheffield Hallam University expert told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“It might be a minor thing in the grand scheme of things but it is one less thing to worry about nonetheless.
“We know clubs generate an awful lot of PR and are in the spotlight 24/7. That is just the nature of the modern football club, especially at the high end.
“Any negative PR that you can dodge is always a good thing and I’m sure Spurs will be delighted that has transpired.”

Spurs are currently 4th in the Premier League with six games left to play.
Paratici has brought ex-Juve stars Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur to Tottenham, as well as former manager Antonio Conte.
