Tottenham will be making a big mistake by axing 25-yr-old, one compelling stat shows why

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank is set to make changes to his starting lineup for the upcoming Champions League clash with Bodo/Glimt.

On Saturday, 27 September, Spurs drew 1-1 with Wolves in the Premier League to extend their unbeaten run to five games across all competitions.

The North Londoners defeated Villarreal 1-0 in their first Champions League game this season, thanks to Luiz Junior’s own goal.

Tottenham cannot leave out Mohammed Kudus vs Bodo/Glimt

Frank enjoyed a largely successful summer transfer window at his new club, as Spurs signed Kudus from rivals West Ham, as well as acquiring stars like Xavi Simons.

The 25-year-old has performed well since trading East London for North London, notching three assists in eight appearances across all competitions.

Frank will be tempted to rest some key members of his squad against lesser opponents, Bodo/Glimt on Tuesday, 30 September, while Tottenham search for their second Champions League win of the season.

Kudus made eight dribbles on his Champions League debut for Frank’s men against Villarreal, which was the most by a Spurs player in a game in the competition since March 2020, after Giovani Lo Celso made 11 vs RB Leipzig.

The winger’s dribbling skills can help the North Londoners get the better of the high press that boss Kjetil Knutsen has instilled at Bodo/Glimt, so he has to be handed a start by Frank.

Bodo/Glimt proved that they are worthy of their place in elite competitions by reaching the Europa League semi-finals last term, while the Norwegian club also held Slavia Prague to a 2-2 draw in their opening Champions League game this season.

However, after Tottenham drew 1-1 with Wolves in the Premier League on 27 September, Frank will view Knutsen’s men as an opponent who he can beat.

If Spurs earn two wins from as many Champions League games, they will put themselves in a strong position to go straight through to the knockout stages, rather than having to endure the playoff round.

Meanwhile, a victory in Norway on Tuesday would give the North London outfit the confidence they need ahead of their Premier League clash with Leeds United on Saturday, 4 October.

Spurs will be eager to beat Leeds to ensure that they are in as strong a position as possible ahead of the international break.
