Tottenham’s next manager appointment date revealed – sources

Tottenham are keen to make a manager appointment as soon as possible if they decide to ditch Ange Postecoglou at the end of this season, sources have told Football Insider.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (14 April) that Postecoglou’s exit could be sealed as soon as this week if Spurs suffer defeat in the Europa League.

The Lilywhites must win the competition to qualify for the Champions League and for the 59-year-old to have any chance of keeping his job.

Tottenham chiefs are already evaluating potential successors – with Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola and Fulham’s Marco Silva top candidates as things stand.

Tottenham set sights on quick summer appointment

This summer’s transfer window opens on 1 June due to clubs participating in the Club World Cup and it is believed Spurs want to take advantage of that opportunity to give a potential new manager the chance to make his own signings early in the off-season.

Iraola and Silva are also attracting interest elsewhere in the Premier League and across Europe, and Tottenham are keen to make a quick appointment to avoid being gazumped.

Postecoglou’s side sit 15th in the Premier League this term but can win silverware in the Europa League, where they face Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday (17 April) with the quarter-final tie finely poised at 1-1.

The London club would then need to navigate a semi-final against Bodo/Glimt or Lazio and a potential final against Lyon, Rangers, Athletic Bilbao or Man United.

Iraola has been with Bournemouth since 2023, while Fulham boss Silva was appointed in 2021 – and both clubs are fighting for European qualification via the Premier League.

Tottenham could re-sign Chelsea star

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed earlier this month (6 April) that Tottenham are plotting a surprise move to re-sign Chelsea star Noni Madueke this summer.

Madueke left Tottenham’s academy setup in 2018 in favour of a move to Dutch outfit PSV.

He is back in England with Chelsea but has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge in recent months.
