Tottenham’s updated stance on sacking Ange Postecoglou after new board talks
Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham future remains up in the air as the decision is now “50/50” in the wake of winning the Europa League final.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed what sources have said about Postecoglou’s future.
Daniel Levy and the Tottenham board have held furthet talks in the wake of Wednesday’s momentous triumph, but there is still a feeling they might have to make a change after a dismal domestic season.
While the Europa League success will provide a boost to the whole club, both financially and after ending their trophy drought, it has not offered the boss any guarantees.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 2 May that Postecoglou’s future is on a knife’s edge, with both the board and fans split over a decision.
Postecoglou has remained open about his position after accepting that his future remains in the balance, with a decision to be made in due course.

Tottenham ’50/50′ on Ange Postecoglou sack decision
Football Insider revealed on 11 April that Postecoglou is among the favourites to be sacked at the end of the season amid growing pressure from the fans.
However, lifting the club’s first trophy in 17 years has led to doubts surrounding his future and suggestions he could stay for another season.
O’Rourke explained that no decision has been made yet, with the “brilliant moment” of lifting a trophy making the board’s decision all the more difficult.
“It’s papering over the cracks,” he told Football Insider.
“That Europa League success is a brilliant moment for Tottenham.
“Champions League football will boost the finances of the club and everything else, and that’s a big thing for Tottenham going forward.
“Their league form has not been good enough, there’s no getting away from that.
“It’s probably about 50/50 right now, it’s given the Spurs hierarchy food for thought and obviously the fans are very happy right now.
“I don’t think winning the Europa League will ensure Postecoglou keeps his job.
“To be fair to Postecoglou, he’s been open after the match what whatever happens will happen.
“It’s obviously given Spurs a bit more to think about, having ended that trophy drought.
“But the club’s hierarchy might be thinking they might have to make a change.”

Spurs set sights on Marc Guehi deal after Crystal Palace latest
With their Europa League success and subsequent qualification for the Champions League, Spurs will now turn their attentions towards the transfer window.
Football Insider revealed on 20 May that Tottenham remain interested in Marc Guehi, whose future is said to be unaffected by Crystal Palace’s FA Cup success.
Guehi has just over one year to run on his contract at Selhurst Park and has so far not advanced in negotiations over a renewal.
This comes after Football Insider revealed in March that Newcastle, Tottenham and Chelsea will race Liverpool to land Guehi this summer – while Arsenal have also been linked.
