Trabzonspor give Andre Onana what he wanted after Man United request that upset Ruben Amorim
Details regarding Andre Onana’s loan move to Turkish side Trabzonspor have emerged after the goalkeeper’s exit from Manchester United was agreed.
Onana has fallen out of favour with Ruben Amorim and the Cameroonian failed to put selection concerns to bed with a disastrous outing against Grimsby.
Football Insider exclusively revealed earlier in the transfer window that Onana had been offered to West Ham United by Man United.
It was also revealed that Onana had been the subject of a move to Monaco, after returning to Old Trafford this offseason with new contract demands that upset head coach Amorim.
The ex-Ajax and Inter man had been subject to a wage cut along with his teammates after their failure to qualify for Europe last term, but came back after the summer wanting a new deal as a result, and has now got the pay increase he wanted.

Andre Onana moves to Turkey
Onana was placed behind Altay Bayindir in the goalkeeping pecking order this season and failed to play any of United’s three opening Premier League matches.
It has now been revealed that the deal to send Onana to Trabzonspor will see the Cameroonian earn more than what he was on at Old Trafford.
Ben Jacobs of talkSPORT reported that Onana’s deal will include a signing-on bonus as well as other bonuses that will see him earn more than his United salary.
Fabrizio Romano additionally reported that the Trabzonspor will not be subject to an obligation-to-buy fee, nor will they pay a loan fee for the Cameroonian.

Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir regress while Senne Lammens waits in the wings
Football Insider verdict
Onana’s mistake ridden performance at Grimsby lead to fans calling for the goalkeeper to be let go by some United fans.
Meanwhile Bayindir’s performances in the opening three Premier League games have been equally as error prone.
Man United’s 25/26 results | |
vs Arsenal (H) | 0-1 |
vs Fulham (A) | 1-1 |
vs Grimsby (A) (Carabao Cup) | 2-2 (10-11) |
vs Burnley (H) | 3-2 |
The two goalkeepers have been responsible for over half of United’s six goals that they’ve conceded so far this season.
As Senne Lammens now comes to the club from Royal Antwerp, Amorim will hope that Bayindir’s performances take a step up, with the young Belgian waiting in the wings to take over if they don’t improve.
