Fee agreed: Rangers shake hands on deal for Glasgow-bound creative spark – Sky

By Abigail Withey

Rangers have agreed a £1.3million fee with Championship club Norwich City for midfielder Graham Dorrans, according to a recent report.

Sky Sports has revealed that an offer for the 30-year-old has been accepted and the creative spark is expected to travel to Glasgow within the next 24 hours.

It is said that the boyhood Rangers fan has been linked with a move to the Ibrox throughout the summer, but Pedro Caixinha has now agreed a final price with the Canaries for the central midfielder.

The playmaker joined Norwich from West Bromwich Albion in 2015 following a loan spell with the club, and has since made an impact at Carrow Road.

Despite injury, the former Scotland international scored six goals and provided a single assist throughout his 24 appearances during the Canaries’ 2016/17 campaign.

Dorrans now looks likely to become Caixinha’s ninth signing of the summer transfer window.

Caixinha has made an impact during his first transfer window with Rangers after already bringing in Eduardo Herrera, Fabio Cardoso, Alfredo Morelos, Daniel Candeias, Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Dalcio and Carlos Pena of far.

The Gers’ boss now looks to complete the deal for Dorrans in order to bolster his squad even more before the club being their 2017/18 campaign.

Football Insider verdict

Signing Dorrans from Norwich would be a triumph for Caixinha after the 30-year-old playmaker has continued to prove his worth while at Carrow Road. Dorran’s would bring experience and maturity to the dressing room at Ibrox as he has played in the English top flight with West Bromwich Albion, and will be able to adapt those skills into the Scottish Premier League. As a lifelong fan of Rangers, Dorrans will no doubt put his heart and soul into his performances for the club and show that he can be an integral part of the squad. Despite Caixihna already recruiting Jack and Pena to bolster his midfielder, the experience and versatility that Dorrans carries should mean that he becomes a regular first team starter.

In the latest Rangers transfer news, Caixinha looks to pursue a versatile attacker.
